Samsung Announces Pre-Order Availability for New OLED TV
Samsung has announced that its new 2023 77-inch OLED S95C TV is now available for pre-order on the company’s website. Customers who place a pre-order for the TV through February 20 will receive free in-home installation by a professional. The OLED TV is the world’s first that features Quantum Dot Technology, which provides excellent screen brightness, pure blacks and more than a billion shades of lifelike colors. It also boasts 4K resolution from any source and is great for gaming, thanks to a 144Hz refresh rate. The 77-inch OLED S95C TV costs $4,449.99 and will begin shipping later this month.
In other news, Google is rolling out its new “Immersive View” Maps feature in five cities, including Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco. The new feature combines aerial photography with Maps’ Street view mode for a 3D experience using artificial intelligence and computer vision. According to Engadget, Google created the feature to help users plan trips by showing contextual information like weather, traffic and how busy a certain location gets at different times of the day. In September, the tech giant began offering a preview of the feature and will roll it out to more cities across the world over the next several months.
Google has also announced other news features that it claims will help make the internet a safer place for everyone. The safety features were announced Tuesday as part of Safer Internet Day. One of the biggest changes is a safeguard that will automatically blur explicit images in Search even if SafeSearch filtering is not turned on. Other newly announced features include more privacy protections on the Google IOS app, biometric authentication for passwords on Chrome and virtual card numbers for online transactions.
